The sun is shining, the yard is full of hair as the winter coats are shed and the shiny summer coats are coming through. The horses are loving their swimming and are in the dam most days with or with out the riders! The firey necked night jars are singing, the frogs are calling and lilly white legs are being exposed. Spring has sprung.
Come and meet us in London, Horizon Horseback will be represented at the riding holiday show Nov 6th 11am – 6pm at the Strand Palace Hotel, London. Please do contact us for tickets, entry is free but tickets must be booked in advance.
After 15 years and doing everything it is possible for a horse to do at Horizon Jack has gone back to his original owners for retirement they recently contacted us asking if he was available and we felt it only fitting that he return to them, we do miss his jumping antics and wish him well in his new home.

THE PARTNERSEstablished in 1993 by Rupert and Tanya Baber and Shane and Laura Dowinton, Horizon Horseback has built an enviable reputation for horsemanship, adventure, good food and a refreshingly relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Shane and Laura Dowinton, both originally from the UK, met whilst working in Australia and are now confirmed lovers of Africa. Rupert Baber grew up on Triple ‘B’ ranch where Horizon is based, and met his future wife, Tanya, who is also originally from the UK, while studying at Cambridge University in England. All the partners share a passion and love of horses that is shown with every one of the much-loved herd. |

Carmen CowleyRiding guide for Horizon Horseback Safaris. Carmen has been part of the Horizon team for 8 years and she runs the Horizon safaris. She loves the horses and likes them to be well behaved at all times. She has worked with horses all her life and is very knowlegeable in the bush. “Please thank Carmen for her exceptional dressage lessons - I have never sweated so much in my life.” |
