The sun is shining, the yard is full of hair as the winter coats are shed and the shiny summer coats are coming through. The horses are loving their swimming and are in the dam most days with or with out the riders! The firey necked night jars are singing, the frogs are calling and lilly white legs are being exposed. Spring has sprung.

After 15 years and doing everything it is possible for a horse to do at Horizon Jack has gone back to his original owners for retirement they recently contacted us asking if he was available and we felt it only fitting that he return to them, we do miss his jumping antics and wish him well in his new home.

The Big 5 Safari is amazing value: riding in two countries over 8 days and seeing the Big 5 game speices on horseback. Both Horizon Horseback Safaris and Limpopo Valley Horse Safaris put their horses first and as a result this is a wonderful riding experience in Africa. |

BIG 5 SAFARIThis eight day safari is for those who want the ultimate game viewing experience, including all the 'Big 5' game species (elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard and lion), as well as a plethora of plains game. First this safari takes you deep in the Waterberg mountains in Limpopo Province, South Africa, to a pioneering private game reserve. Horizon Horseback Safaris hosts these first four days, where you will see buffalo, leopard (if lucky) and literally 'herds' of rhino and plains game. Accommodation is in a thatched lodged overlooking a lake with stunning vistas. Each room has en suite facilities and the three double rooms open out onto a private verandah over the lake. |

Following a scenic drive, the second leg of the safari takes place with Limpopo Valley Horse Safaris in the Tuli Block, Botswana. The next four days are spent exploring this area where elephant, lion and leopard are frequently seen. Accommodation is is comfortable tents with en suite facilities. This safari is for experienced riders who love to pack as much as possible into a holiday: two countries, two operations, big 5 game viewing on horseback, comfortable accomodation and superb wildlife. If you love horses and the bush, and want to experience African wildlife at its best on horseback, this is the safari for you.
