SIGNATURE SAFARI
Our Signature Safari runs from our lodge on the historic Baber estate in the Waterberg, South Africa. It is a comfortable and relaxing safari with two options:
- Fully flexible itinerary for all levels of rider: novice to experienced. Rides are split according to rider ability. 7-10 days.
- Fixed 7 day itinerary – for intermediate riders and above.
TULI SAFARI
This is an epic mobile horseback safari on Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana. This safari is for experienced riders, with a maximum group size of 8 guests.
This is an 8 day safari, which run either form a Monday or a Saturday. Fixed dates throughout the year. We have two slightly different itineraries, which vary according to number of nights spent at each different camp.
AFRICAN EXPLORER
Our African Explorer safari is for those who love to travel and see as much as possible in a short holiday. It is an 8 day safari which starts in South Africa (4 or 3 nights) with the last few nights Botswana (3 or 4 nights).
This ride is for intermediate and above riders only. It runs to fixed dates year round, starting on a Tuesday and a Friday. The African Explorer is undoubtedly the best value horse riding safari in Africa.
Our Family safari is based at our Signature Safari lodge on the historic Baber estate in the Waterberg, South Africa. This is a tailor-made family horse riding holiday which can cater for all levels of rider from beginner to experienced.

Following COVID-19, the workplace in developed economies has experienced a seismic change which not only enables, but in some cases, even encourages “work from home”. Many observers have noted that these changes are here to stay. Horizon Horseback has responded by introducing a limited number of long stay (typically three months), remote working opportunities for our clients at a massive discount to our normal rates.
During lockdown a number of our guests took up this opportunity and it is a great success for them. Typically they are riding once a day, rather than the usual twice, while matching working hours to their workplace in Europe or the requirements of their employers. Guests are allocated private office space at the lodge with a free, adequately fast internet connection, while enjoying all the benefits of lodge life and the chance to either ride a wide range of different horses or develop an intimate relationship with a particular favourite.

In order to satisfy the prerequisite of having a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test within three days of arrival at the South Africa and Bostwanan borders, the African Explorer will run as follows: 1 night in South Africa, 5 nights in Bostwana and 1 night in South Africa. This offer will be running for a limited period only.
